Another enjoyable post! Love the DOF animation. And the water drops on the beautiful yarn make for a fanciful shot.

Beautiful pictures, as always. Your posts are always so educational. It's refreshing to see such a well-put-together blog (especially from someone in my own city!).
P.S. - I've been wondering...you mentioned several posts ago that you are teaching yoga twice a week. Where do you teach?

De-lurking to say that you take lovely pictures and you should stop by your sister's house more often.

great photo with the water droplets.... but inquiring minds want to know:

how much does your camera weigh and how do you get yourself to "stay still" when photographing so you won't have "blurring?" MaryjoO

I wish I was taking the class with you! I actually really like the yarn pictures with the droplets of water...interesting composition.

Psychological depth of field huh? Maybe that's my problem. Mine's too deep and I try to focus on too many things at one time. Interesting thought.

beautiful photos! I especially love the raindrops in yarn...and the snowflakes on yarn! Oh - and the kitty cat whose little ear twitches just the little bit! so, so pretty!

Lurker ahoy...What a wonderful poem about socks, and I am enjoying the photography too. HOW did the tree change sizes in the yarn photo? Is the first or the second one the zoomed one? Very cool.

Good question Martha, I should have explained that!

For the photo on the left, I stood farther back from my subject (the yarn) and used the zoom lens to magnify. For the photo on the right, I stood closer to my subject and zoomed all the way out.
