Coming home again
I spent this past weekend at the Silver Falls Knitting Retreat. There was much relaxing, knitting, chatting and laughing. I made some new friends and was reunited with friends I've made at past retreats, and I had the best roommate ever... my mom!
The September knitting retreat is different (compared to February's retreat) because there are no classes scheduled. Everyone can drift about and find things to do on their own. I like to visit each cabin and knit a while with the inhabitants, and see what yummy things they thought of to bring for snacks and drinks! The fake mimosas on Saturday morning topped the charts, I must remember that for next year...
Coming home after the weekend was especially sweet... not only was I reunited with my sweetie and my cats, I also got to sit in our Hot! New! Hot tub!! This summer we have several projects going to improve the back yard, and part of the improvements was to have a deck built. One section is covered, and features a gorgeous cedar arch, and the rest of the deck is shaded by an open trellis. I have been digging up the area around the deck, preparing to lay some stones for a nice patio area and border.
Eventually there will be plants and other lovely features, and it will match the front of the house, which is looking fabulous as well...

I agree with your choice for "Best Roommate Ever," but where is the link for making a reservation at the hot tub? (I promise to wear a bathing suit!)
