Silhouette

I started knitting this Faux Russian Stole last year, in August, and am now about 80% done. The lace pattern is easy to knit, but there are about fifty rows in each pattern repeat, so it requires the use of the chart at all times.

The yarn - Rowanspun 4-ply in Tweed, a deep green - is very interesting, tweedy and nubbly, with a crunchy texture. I love the resulting fabric and I can't wait to wear this shawl!

I thought the joy would eventually wear off after the first couple of repeats, but my heart still skips a beat each time I finish a row! I really enjoy the quiet hours I spend with this project.

Oh, gorgeous. I've been looking for a good rectangular shawl pattern... and I've never thought of knitting lace with tweed. I think I might give it a go.

The shawl is exquisite in shadow! When I've knit large projects, especially lace, I fall in love with them completely. It's difficult to part with the process once they are finished, too.

Excellent lace knitting - and a brilliant way to photograph it to show that lovely pattern. Well done.

The stole is absolutely stunning! I can't wait to see it finished and blocked. But whoa, a 50 row repeat? At least it has regular patterning to make those rows a bit predictable.
