Celtic Tiger I and II
Celtic Tiger I was well received by a grateful sock recipient with very narrow long feet. They fit her perfectly:
Celtic Tiger II is well on the way, I just began gusset increases for the heel area. I'm following the Widdershins pattern from Knitty's Summer 2006 issue.
These are called Celtic Tiger socks for several reasons...
1. Starting with the word Tiger, duh, they are striped socks.
2. Celtic, well, the colors remind me of the souvenir shops in Dublin.
3. Celtic Tiger was a term for Ireland during the economic boom that started in 1990. The name implies riches and success, and the colors remind me of leprechauns and pots of gold.

I'm just now starting on the gusset increases from the same Knitty pattern - using the luscious Sundara yarn. It will be my travel project tomorrow, on the way to Lexington VA -- and the Green Valley Book Fair!
Irie!
Thank you for your podcast! I enjoy listening to your stash comments. I can't wait to try the grape vine socks.
Thank you so MUCH!
